Hi.

This is the story of how life can change too fast. From Asian beaches to Irish chemo wards, we document it here.

Mystery trip with the Thai GAA

Mystery trip with the Thai GAA

20 people pay $100 each and show up to a mall with their bags packed. They pile into vans, settle down with drinks and snacks, and guess where they are going.

2 days later they are shells of their former selves after rafting, ATVing and dancing the days away in Nakon Nayok.

The Thai GAA are a trusting bunch. In February 2018, they handed over their 3200 thb and got in a van. With just a short list of what to pack, they headed into the sunset, miles away from Bangkok. What they got was a weekend full of muck and splashes and the sadly not-pictured karaoke bacchanal. Jessica's foot needed another 3 months of rehab, and Ger can never watch Dirty Dancing ever again. It was all worth it though...for the craic was mighty.

You might not believe it from the luxury transport, but we got great value for money. For that $100 we had 2 nights room and board, transportation, rafting, and an ATV run!

On Saturday night, we were hosted for a Thai fab banquet where we ate our weight in rice. The group played a game that was a white elephant-meets-dares extravaganza. Items came out of a bag that had dares, activities or dances attached to them. We saw the Spice girls reunite, tribal dances and the full lift from dirty dancing.
