Hi.

This is the story of how life can change too fast. From Asian beaches to Irish chemo wards, we document it here.

Phuket it's Rebecca's Birthday!

Phuket it's Rebecca's Birthday!

I guess this is a tradition now. I'll take it. We upgraded from last year, now that we are Anantara Friends and Family (what WHAT!). So it was 2 private pool villas for us.

It was very important to USE the crap out of these rooms so we held a party with some stragglers we picked up along the way. Jackie and Rossi had just moved to Phuket so drove up laden down with BOOZE (why pay resort prices?). Alex and Carolina came down from Bangkok and were staying nearby. Add in the hourly room-service calls (ice, cake, balloons, pizza, more ice) and we had ourselves a party.

Irish dancing in Phuket Anantara

It started off fairly innocently, but descended into Irish dancing which of course we know is the gateway move into madness. Inspired by the ongoing Olympics and team USAs dominance in the gym, we staged a synchronized display worthy of Simone herself. The sceptical onlookers soon relented and joined in...for a handstand competition that cost Mike a located shoulder. Rebecca won in fine form and then we crowded the outdoor bathtub where a mini-UN discussed the issues of the day, and disposed of a lot of dodgy Australian white. Happily our noise complaint was quickly handled by the staff.

The rest of the weekend was spent in a less boisterous fashion but included the Bloody Mary bar at the breakfast buffet and a game called "how many countries on 1 plate". Mike is the defending champion.
