Family Christmas in North Carolina
Continuing an old tradition, we followed the hoards of Floridians to the mountains. We chose to stay closer to Asheville this time, which put us near the Blue Ridge parkway, and some good drinking and shopping in the city.
The trip had a rocky start as we had no water for 48 hours! It was a positive, in a way, as we had to bond quickly over toilet flushes, boiling water and trips to the steam for more water.
After there, we did all the usual winter mountain activities. Drives, walks, and hikes during the day. Wine, TV and bonfires at night. The kids were ecstatic to have all their aunties and uncles in one place.
We thought about Rebecca nonstop, but were a little unsure on how to deal with her loss. She hadn’t been to that place before, but we felt her absence anyway.
We were desperate for a Christmas tree so got a little creative. Here is the story of Lil’Prickles
