Hi.

This is the story of how life can change too fast. From Asian beaches to Irish chemo wards, we document it here.

After a frantic week of packing, Mike was ready with his 4 giant duffel bags ($20 on Amazon). We did the obligatory late night walmart run. I filled a bag with a pretty random selection of things I knew I didn't need for a while, like party dresses, heels and some Barry's tea. Pretty useless in retrospect, but I was weeks away from being ready to pack.

Mike packed an ENTIRE PC, broken down into it's composite parts and lovingly packed in bubble wrap. He also brought a racing helmet and buddy the dog (stuffed, cheap and loving).

His long ass 3-stop flight was at 7am so I dropped him off drove in the rain back home. Oh wait, it was tears. Even as I went to bed that night, he was still only in Japan.

I went to Stepanie's house after work for comfort and baby cuddles. It was one of the million times I was grateful for good friends.

The next day I moved his desk out to the garage and set the office up like it was mine alone. There was no way I could have spent a month looking at that empty space.
